The Political Theme covers a wide variety of area's...politicians running for office, governors, presidents, foreign leaders, political events, etc.

The cigar box was also used to make a statement in the form of political satyr as this ©1874 Heppenheimer-Maurer illustrates above.  I don't have a clue what the jest of this cartoon was but the imagery is wonderful.
