Stone Mountain...Georgia
The 3,200-acre Stone Mountain State Park features the world's largest carving, a memorial to three heroes of the Confederacy, Confederate President Jefferson Davis, Generals Robert E. Lee and Thomas J. "Stonewall" Jackson. The Stone Mountain area was also the site of a skirmish with Federal raiders under General Kenner Garrard in July of 1864. The railroad was destroyed and over 150 Confederate soldiers were killed.
