Winfield Scott Hancock (1824-1886)
Was most instrumental for the North in the battle of Gettysburg. He ran for President in 1880 and was defeated by Garfield.
George Gordon Meade (1815-1872)
Commanded the Northern forces at Gettysburg and repulsed Lee.
John Fulton Reynolds (1820-1863)
Went from Brigadier General in 1861 to Major General in 1862. He was killed in action the first day at Gettysburg.
